Marilyn
Sargent shares this recent experience with a relative suffering from
a severe allergy to cats...
M:
Eileen, what were you allergic to?
E:
Cats and dogs.
M:
Tell me about that.
E: Anytime I would touch them or have contact with them,
physically, then touching my face,
I would itch or have hives.
M:
Do you remember when that started?
E:
Probably in the last nine years.
M:
In the last nine years, has it been the same or has it gotten
worse?
E:
It's gotten worse.
M:
O.K. So how did
this interfere with your life or impact your life having had these
allergies?
E:
I constantly had to wash my hands or I didn't give the love
or affection to my animals.
M:
What animals do you have?
E:
2 Cats 2 Dogs, now.
M:
I know you did some work with Al on Christmas Eve, could you
describe what your impression was of what the two of you worked on
together?
E: We talked
about some abuse of touching in my past that triggered a reaction
from my body by putting some kind of guard up, protecting me.
M:
Do you have a sense of what happened that shifted that, with
what you and Al did together?
E: Realizing what
that part of me was and trying to unhook it so that it was O.K. and
I would be able to touch the animals and wouldn't have to worry
about touching my face. And
recognizing where in my past the concern about touching was really
from - a situation totally unrelated to cats and dogs.
M:
Could you describe what happened after you worked with Al?
You spent about a half hour together, right?
E:
I think it was about a half an hour. Afterwards I petted my
cat and I didn't feel like I was itchy and breaking out with hives
and she was even cuddling up to my face.
M:
So that was really different?
E: Yes.
M:
Since then, that was in December and this is now January, what has
changed?
E: Well, that
night I was feeling itchy other places and Al said, sometimes you
just have to say, "Well, OK thank you," as a reminder that
I am OK. So anytime if it seems like I feel I'm itching somewhere,
because I was being affectionate with the cat, I'll just go,
"OK I know what that is, thanks."
M:
That's a good connection with your unconscious mind then.
E: Right.
M:
How are things different now?
E:
Well, I feel like I don't have to worry when I'm going to
touch the cats or the dogs, or worry if they want to rub up on me or
lick me, that then I'm going to be suffering.
M:
This can probably make a difference when you go into
someone's home to do your Mary Kay business too.
E:
Definitely.
M:
You won’t have to worry about whether or not they have a
cat or a dog. Good. If
we were to do a self-recording measurement, on a scale of one to
ten, before you had the conversation with Al, how bad were the
results of touching the cat?
E: Ten.
M:
Ok, and how intense is this now?
E: Two. It's a
big difference.
M:
Possibly we could do a follow up there.
Would you like to be a zero?
E:
Yes.
M:
So you do not have to tangibly do any processes over and over
again?
E: Exactly.
M:
Great, so it's just a done deal.
E: Yes. Much
better.
M:
Well, that’s what we want.
E:
Just earlier the dog was rubbing up against me and I was
thinking I was going to break out, so I just touched the back of my
fingers like Al said, and said to myself, "It's fine."
It’s amazing; I can't come up with words to explain the
difference from before to now.
M:
Great!
E:
Being so miserable. I
remember one time leaving your house when Misty (cat) was there and
my eyes were killing me. I
remember we had to stop at the store and get some eye drops because
my eye felt like it was bulging out of my head, just because I was
touching the cat and touched my eye.
I don’t have that anymore!
M:
That is so cool!
E: Yeah, it's
amazing! (Laugh)
M:
Good, ok, you got the results you wanted then?
E:
Definitely!
M:
Ok, well thanks for sharing that with me.
E:
No problem, I hope it helps other people.
M:
That's our goal is to make the results of our work more
visible and we are exploring different ways to do that.
E: Well whatever Al
did with me definitely worked and it was so easy.
Thanks!

used several Hemispheric Integration processes, including “Anchors
Away” and “Re-Imprinting” to achieve this shift for Eileen. Accessing the information stored in each hemisphere of the
brain allowed her to release past patterns that were not useful in
the present and create alternative responses that can include a
close, affectionate relationship with her pets.
